IF YOU PUT ENOUGH LIGHTS ON THE CHRISTMAS TREE…
I did it!! I went out and bought a REAL Christmas tree this year. Today, as a matter of fact. To say that it was “slim pickens” is rather an understatement. Here I thought that I was getting a tree fairly early, but I actually had trouble finding one! Have I mentioned before that I live in a very rural part of Illinois? Most people around here probably go out in the woods and chop down a tree. But me, I’m used to Chicago, where you can go out on Christmas Eve and find anything you want! But I digress…so the tree that I found, and bought, is a little skimpy on one side. I hate to use the word bald, but I did have to use the branches at the bottom of the tree that I cut off , to fill in one side of the tree. I figure I can just spray paint them green when they start to turn brown. Anyway, the whole point of this is…I discovered that if you put on a lot, and I mean a lot, of lights you can kind of fill in the holes! At first I thought I was just crazy, but by the time I finished putting the lights on, it looked amazing. I’d forgotten how beautiful a slightly bent, slightly balding Christmas tree can look. Now, if I can just remember to keep adding water…
