IT DOESN’T TAKE MUCH TO FEEL BETTER
Here are some things that I do for myself that may seem silly or pointless, but make me feel better. I work at home so I really don’t need to dress up, and I don’t. But I notice that on the days when I’m wearing makeup and my hair is actually styled, not just thrown into some kind of bun on the back of my head, that I feel so much better. For most of my working life, I’ve been in a very corporate setting. I was in Marketing for years, so I was in the public eye a lot. I still have most of the clothes I wore. No, I don’t wear suits and high heels around the house, that would be just a little over the top, even for me. But, I do believe in trying to look half way decent. Also, I’ve always wanted to be like one of those women on television who seem like they’re always ready. So, I’ve gotten out my nice sweaters, I put on jewelry everyday…and I am actually ready. I’m ready to face anything that comes my way. Maybe this is just part of my comfort zone, but for me it works! If you don’t have time to do it all, just put on a necklace and some rings. I stick them in my pocket when I need to, and then put them back on. I’ve always had nice boots that actually shouldn’t be worn in bad weather, so I wear them around. Have you ever noticed how even a little heel makes you feel thinner? You don’t even need a lot of money to do this. Go to Goodwill and buy something different. They also have lots of jewelry. I just think that we need to do things for ourselves that make us feel good. This is just a suggestion…and…you never know who might knock at your door!
